One year ago, Diaz-Balart helped torpedo your healthcare
One year ago today, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart voted to take away your healthcare. His support of H.R. 1628 to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) aimed to substantially raise healthcare costs for low-income Americans and those with pre-existing conditions.
Even Diaz-Balart acknowledged: “Is this bill good? No, I don’t like it.”
Then he voted on it anyway!
So why did Diaz-Balart vote on a bill he knew was bad and had the potential to ruin people’s lives? So as not to earn the wrath of his fellow Republicans. (He basically said so.)
This legislation passed the House by the narrowest of margins, 217 to 213, with many Republicans opposed. Congressman Diaz-Balart, however, was one of the key votes to ram this flawed and devastating bill through the House of Representatives.
According to a recent national health survey, Florida now ranks at the bottom of the nation (48th) in healthcare. This is unacceptable.
Yet, Diaz-Balart has done nothing but make the situation worse.
Fixing healthcare needs to be a top priority for anyone in this office. It’s clearly not for Diaz-Balart, and he should be denied another term just like so many are denied access to the care they need.
Help me win this district so we can make sure Tallahassee and DC are putting people before politics:
